Sir Alan as an adviser? Pull the other one |
It's interesting that someone (Gordon Brown or Peter Mandelson perhaps) think Sir Alan Sugar will make a good adviser. Peter Honey, an authority on learning, thinks otherwise. He says in his blog "He doesn’t strike me as a man who has the temperament or the skills required to be an adviser. I see him more as someone who is comfortable issuing orders and, naturally, expecting them to be obeyed, rather than someone who offers recommendations and hoping they might be taken up." His advice to Sir Alan on being an effective adviser struck a chord. That's of course what we do as HR professionals - especially the last one! |
