Reflections on The Apprentice

As every year, there are mixed views about Sir Alan's new Apprentice.

My own view is that Kate was the better candidate, but Sir Alan does tend to hire in his own image.  Compare the presentations of the two finalists to their audience of experts - Kate's presentation was superb.  She handled questions confidently and adeptly.  Yasmina's was less polished, but then she had a better concept to work with.  I admired Kate's approach throughout the whole series - she was focused, demonstrated good leadership skills and was a good team player.  She was the only one apart from Kristina (in series 3) who did not indulge in backbiting and criticism of her fellow competitors.  I am sure someone will snap up Kate - they probably already have!  She will be a great asset to any organisation.

This article highlights Sir Alan's sexist approach to the recruitment in the past, and the different qualities that the last four women in the competition brought to the table.

And it's a shame real shame that Margaret is leaving the series - her pithy comments and raised eyebrows will be sorely missed.  I wonder who SrrrAlan will find to replace her...
