Organisational Development

  • Northamptonshire County Council

Northamptonshire County Council needed to improve its performance management following a review by regulators. A new performance appraisal scheme was designed, communicated and implemented. For the first time, this included a rating which linked to pay. It also reinforced the link between individual, team, service and corporate objectives - the golden thread.

“Hilary’s work on delivering an organisation wide strategy and practice on performance appraisal and development has provided a real sense of an organisation working together for the first time” – Peter Gould, Former Chief Executive, Northamptonshire County Council

  • Cambridge City Council

Cambridge City Council achieved its ambition of Investor in People status for the first time in 1995 and has been successful in reaccreditation since. This award provides the foundations for good people management practice in many organisations and paved the way for the City Council to achieve 'excellent' status in the Comprehensive Performance Assessment in 2004.

“Hilary was a highly effective head of HR for the City Council, managing lots of change in the organisation, achieving Investors In People accreditation for the whole Council and laying the HR foundations for the Council to reach excellent status in CPA”. - Rob Hammond, Chief Executive, Cambridge City Council
